From where is the ferry to Wangerooge?

In winter at least once a day and in the other seasons several times a day ferries run between Harlesiel and the western jetty of Wangerooge. There the island train is waiting for the arrivals.

For many island guests, their vacation begins on the easternmost of the seven inhabited East Frisian Islands already with the arrival in the small harbor and seaside resort Harlesiel (800 inhabitants). Harlesiel is the outer harbor of Carolinensiel, which in turn is a district of Wittmund, the largest city in East Frisia. At the ferry dock in Harlesiel, the vacationer is greeted by a wide view of the islands off the coast. Islands Wangerooge, Spiekeroog and Minsener Oog.

The tide-dependent ferry service Harlesiel-Wangerooge is usually covered by the two ferry vessels Wangerooge (launched in 1985) and Harlingerland (1979). The two small ships, each about 45 m long, are purely passenger ferries. Car ferries are superfluous: Wangerooge is car-free. For the approximately eleven kilometer trip through the Wadden Sea between Harlesiel and island ferries take about 50 minutes. A scant hour spent on deck, North Sea vacation pure means.
