The Oldenburg East Frisian Water Association (OOWV) is responsible for the water supply. According to its records, it consumes around 330,000 m3 of water annually. This water is distributed to private and commercial consumers via 18 vertical wells and a 29-kilometer network of pipes.
To ensure high water quality, OOWV uses several treatment processes. First, the water passes through a pre-purification stage in which quartz sand is used to remove all sediments and particles. Then the water is subjected to coagulation with polyaluminum chloride hydroxide to remove impurities. This is followed by a sedimentation phase in which the impurities settle to the bottom of the tanks. Finally, the water is filtered and disinfected to remove bacteria and viruses.
The treatment plant has a maximum treatment capacity of 100 m3/h and a storage capacity of 1250 m3. This ensures that the water supply on Langeoog is reliable and can meet the needs of the population.

In the summer months you can watch the seals cavorting on the sandbanks. With the excursion boats you can get as close as possible to the seals. The trips take about 2.5 hours. But also directly on Langeoog you can observe the seals and grey seals. On the nature trail Osterhook there is a viewing platform from which you can see the animals with a little luck.
