Where is Norderney located?

It is located in the German Bight, a part of the North Sea, which borders Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands.

Norderney is part of the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park, which is the Islands and the Wadden Sea on the East Frisian coast. This area belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to a fascinating ecosystem of mudflats, salt marshes and sand dunes. The island lies only a few meters above sea level and is therefore easily accessible by boat or ferry.

The North Sea island Juist lies about three kilometers to the west, while Baltrum lies in the east. Norderney has a long sandy beach that stretches about 14 kilometers along the north side of the island. The beach is lined by an island causeway in the city area, which allows visitors easy access.

The town of Norderney is located in the western part of the island and has a maximum extension of about 2.5 kilometers in the east-west direction and up to 2 kilometers in the north-south direction. The mainland is between 3 and 6 kilometers away, which makes it an ideal place for a quiet vacation. The town has a charming atmosphere, with traditional German architecture and many restaurants, cafes and stores.
